Accountability
Accountability is a foundation of any successful and respected nonprofit organization. It is the obligation to accept responsibility for one’s actions and decisions and to take ownership of results – regardless of outcomes. For the Tri-County Kentucky United Way, this means being accountable to our donors, community partners, program participants, and our local communities. It means transparency, financial effectiveness and efficiency, ethical conduct, legal compliance, and responsiveness to stakeholder feedback. Accountability matters to our United Way so that we can be seen as a reliable and trusted partner to all.

FinancialWe recognize that with every dollar received comes with the responsibility of transparency and accountability. We maintain financial controls and policies to ensure effectiveness, efficiency, and prudence. Our Board of Directors reviews financial reports monthly. We publish our IRS Form 990 that is completed each year.

Membership CertificationAnnually, all United Ways certify adherence to United Way Worldwide's standards for financial reporting, governance, ethics, policy, and operations. This allows us to remain a member of the overall United Way system, providing us with use of the United Way logo, access to training, donations from other United Ways and companies, and collaboration and support through our state associations. Tri-County Kentucky United Way has successfully completed membership requirements annually and has adhered to all standards.
