Our Mission
The Tri-County Kentucky United Way mobilizes the caring power of our communities to improve the quality of life for all by supporting local health and human service programs and addressing local issues in Marion, Nelson and Washington Counties.

To address urgent community needs, financial security, health and well-being, and youth opportunities within Marion, Nelson, and Washington counties. We strive to ensure that everyone has the resources, supports, opportunities, and networks they need to thrive.​

What We Do
We support programs, discussions, and initiatives that help to provide a good quality of life and help to build stronger communities through the following priority areas:
  • Community Resiliency – addressing urgent needs today and advancing a better tomorrow (ie. disaster relief and recovery, crisis support, etc.).
  • Financial Security – building financial stability and strength (ie. job readiness and workforce development, financial education, homeless prevention, individual financial assistance, etc.).  
  • Healthy Community – improving health & well-being for all (ie. food security, mental/physical health, support for the abused, substance use services, legal services, aging, basic needs, etc.).  
  • Youth Opportunity – helping young people realize their full potential (ie. childcare and early childhood development, in-school, afterschool, and summer learning, literacy development, family engagement, STEM education, career and college readiness, etc.).

How We Do It
  • Develop an understanding of community issues and participate and/or lead discussions that help to address and develop solutions.
  • Raise funds through local companies, businesses, individuals, and special events to support local programming and initiatives.
  • Create a network of local services that address top community issues.
  • Act as a resource to all who are in need of services within our tri-county area.
